Project Summary
As part of a major electrical infrastructure upgrade, our team completed the testing and commissioning of new and modified high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) electrical equipment, protection relays, control systems, and monitoring infrastructure across multiple substations and powerhouse locations.
- Commissioning of 121 kV breakers, disconnects, CVTs, surge arresters, and neutral grounding resistors at multiple substations.
- Complete commissioning of two (2) new 15 kV switchgear lineups
- Testing and commissioning of new and modified protection relays for feeders, buses, transformers, generators, and line protections.
- Testing of new mirrored bit and IE61850 communications for facility intertrip and blocking signals
- Commissioning of new generator and breaker controls (Easygen and LS6s)
- Commissioning and functional testing of load shedding module and load shedding scheme
- Commissioning of DC battery systems and support equipment.
- Functional testing of breaker failure, transfer trip, and blocking signals with Hydro One through the existing NDS570s
- Coordination and support for points testing with the IESO
- Commissioning of turbine generator synchronization circuits
- Startup support during integration of the new system
